At the beginning of the session, all participants registered their name and filled-up the registration book and format by individual participants. CFs and SFs helped the participants to do it. Workshop was held at the Union Parishad (UP) building of Hamirdi which is situated within the sub unit area of Chatlar-Fakurhat subproject. After that mid-level WMO Specialist welcomed the participants for day long workshop at the Union level workshop and requested the Chairman to inaugural the workshop.
After the registration, mid-level WMO Specialist welcomed the participants for day long Union level workshop. Mr.Md. Shamsul Alam Rasel, Chairman of Hamirdi,UP presided over the function and Mr. Ataul Haq (DTL) attended in inaugural session as a chief guest. Other respective experts were present in the dais and PMO officials were also present in the workshop. He requested the officials to implement the activities properly regarding re- excavation of the canals for irrigation, regulator repair. Mr. Chairman inaugurated the workshop with clap of hands. In the beginning of the session the Holly Quran and Geeta were cited and after that attended participants introduced themselfs with their name, address and occupation.
Md. Ataul Haq, Deputy Team Leader (DTL) of SAIWRPMP-AF welcomed to all attended participants. He also gave a thanks to honorable UP Chairman & members to attend this program. First time we will work to your upazila area in priority basis. We will follow the Participatory Water Management Rules-2014. He requested to all the participants to coordinate & cooperate to our team for successful project implementation activities. It is your project not to others. We will work to reduce water logged crisis to your areas by following participatory way as well as maintaining "Bottom Up approach". Our main objectives are to enhance agricultural & fisheries production in this areas, so that different types of international/ national improve technology will introduce. Project will provide training to related community peoples, as a result peoples will learn more and apply to their fields for better production. Stakeholders will be benefited and our country will be developed. We hope all the success of the project will go to community peoples.
Project description through Power Point Presentation (PPP)
Md. Masud Karim, Principal Extension Officer presented the WMO (WMG & WMA) formation & development processes one by one through PPP. He presented the previous day slides. He shared the topics with lively approach. No doubt participants enjoyed the session. At the end of the session, some participants shared their experience and he answered properly. Mr. Karim requested them to share their problems in open discussion session elaborately. You can share with SWP officials for your technical problem on fisheries and agriculture any time.
Open discussion session
After the presentation, an open discussion session was conducted to know problems on fisheries, agriculture, water logging and civil work etc. This session was mainly conducted through the respective experts. Attended participants informed the following problems on fisheries, agriculture and infrastructure which were enlisted for address it in SIP report.
Shortage of good quality seeds; Lack of balance fertilizer; Availability of crop disease; Disturbing of insecticides; adulterate fertilizer and Lack of agricultural farming Knowledge.
Fish disease in pond; Lack of knowledge of fish farming; Need to improved fisheries training; No knowledge on fish nursery (fry & fingerlings nursery) and Lack of aquaculture inputs.

Closing of Workshop
Mr.Samsul Alam Rasel,Chairman, Hamirdi UP,Bhanga who gave a special thanks to all attended participants basically BWDB & ISPMC officials those spent their valuable time in this workshop. He will extend his hands for all kind of cooperation to the project. Then he formed “Foundation Committee” which is consists of 13 members with 3 female members, and declared the name of the committee members.
Lastly he closed the workshop with vote of thanks.
